Patti Loan, Aesthetician
Originally from Alberta, Canada, Patti immigrated to the United States in 2000 and became a US Citizen in 2015. She has traveled the world extensively, and her seemingly gypsy lifestyle has taken her to Europe, Africa, South and Central America, Australia, New Zealand and Asia, with stops in many places in the States, including Michigan, North and South Carolina, Colorado, and California. Recently returned from two years in Hong Kong, this is her second residency in Santa Fe. She lived here from 2012 to 2014, and returned in December 2016.
Patti has three grown children, all living on their own and leading interesting lives, and the most adorable little Havanese dog named, Mickah. With a degree in Golf Operations Management from Selkirk College in Canada, she has spent most of her life around golf, working as an administrator on major golf tournaments (most notably the 2004 Ryder Cup Matches). In addition to being an avid golfer, she loves to ski, hike and stay fit by working out. Her travels have introduced her to many ethnic cuisines. She is a member of the International Wine & Food Society in Santa Fe. Great friends, good food and wine and enjoying them together, is her favorite pastime.
If asked about her major achievements, in addition to raising three children and relocating multiple times in multiple cities, Patti would cite the courage it took to change careers in her fifties, and become an aesthetician. She received her aesthetics’ license in 2010 from the International Spa Institute while living in Hilton Head, South Carolina. She then obtained advanced certifications in microdermabrasion, chemical peels and product education in multiple skincare lines. She received her eyelash extension certification from NaturaLash in 2012, and her volume lash certification from BioMooi in Taiwan in 2016. At Santa Fe Lash and Beauty Bar, Patti specializes in eyelash extensions.
As far as her approach to aesthetics, Patti believes that a woman’s eyes are perhaps her most important facial feature, and that a fuller lash look, like a frame around a painting, can make the eyes more expressive, the face more youthful and attractive. She always listens to what her clients want and does her best to accommodate their wishes, while keeping the integrity and health of their natural lashes in mind at all times.
Patti loves what she does. She finds the relationships she has with her clients both personally and professionally rewarding. In a community known for its commitment to the Arts, at Santa Fe Lash and Beauty Bar Patti feels she is in a unique position to elevate eyelash extensions into an art form of its very own.
